Super Eagles forward Akor Adams has been released from the team’s camp at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to attend to a family emergency.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that the striker was granted permission to leave camp following news that his mother was hospitalised on Tuesday.

Adams, who has been part of Nigeria’s squad at the tournament, is expected to travel immediately to be with his family during the difficult period.

The Super Eagles technical crew and players have expressed their support and best wishes to the forward and his family.

It remains unclear if Adams will return to the team before the end of the tournament, as his situation will continue to be monitored by the NFF in consultation with the coaching staff.
